A despatch from Fredericton to the 'Globe' announces the death yesterday morn. of Charles DAVIS, druggist of that place. The announcement will call to mind the strange disappearance of his former partner, Frank PEABODY. Two or three years ago, Mr. PEABODY left Fredericton for a trip to the United States. He left his affairs unsetlled with money to his credit in one of the banking institutions of that place.. His partner and other friends traced him as far as New York, but all efforts to discover his further movements have proved unavailing. Circumstances have, however, given rise to an impression that he either fell or threw himself from a steamer descending the Lachine Rapids.
