The Jerseyans, who were Protestant inhabitants of the Channel Island of Jersey, arrived in Canada in the late 18th century to deal in local resources, fish products in particular. Charles Robin set up business establishments along the coast of the Bay of Chaleur, including Paspébiac in the Gaspé peninsula and in Caraquet, New Brunswick, where he operated a warehouses and stores. This photo shows the Charles Robin Company's facilities in Paspébiac, circa 1910.
