Located on the Northumberland Strait, 2.57 km E of Bayfield: Botsford Parish, Westmorland County: PO 1848-1860 and from 1890: in 1866 Cape Tormentine was a farming and fishing settlement with about 50 families, including 15 Allen and 7 Trenholm families: in 1898 Cape Tormentine was a seaport, terminus of the New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island Railway and a settlement with 1 post office, 1 hotel, 2 lobster factories, 1 church and a population of 250.
