Description
Restigouche County: established from Addington Parish in 1839 and named for George Ramsey, 9th Earl of Dalhousie (1770-1838) who was the lieutenant governor of Nova Scotia from 1816-1819 and governor-in-chief of Upper and Lower Canada from 1819-1828: included Balmoral Parish until 1876.
