Located on N side of the Southwest Miramichi River, 3.14 km NE of Bryenton: Derby Parish, Northumberland County: in 1866 Derby was a farming, fishing and lumbering settlement with approximately 100 families: in 1871 the community and surrounding district had a population of 400: PO 1886-1964: in 1898 Derby was a community on the Indiantown branch of the Intercolonial Railway with 1 post office, 1 hotel, 1 church and a population of 200: Derby became part of Millerton.
