Description
Located at the head of the Shepody River, 3.93 km NNE of Waterside: Harvey Parish, Albert County: settled about 1765 by German immigrants from Pennsylvania who later moved to Hillsborough: PO 1853-1947: in 1866 Germantown was a farming village with about 57 resident families: in 1871 it had a population of 150: in 1898 Germantown had 1 post office, 1 store, 1 sawmill, 1 grist mill, 1 church and a population of 210.
