Located 7.52 km NW of Ortonville: Grand Falls Parish, Victoria County: PO 1860-1914: in 1866 it was a community with about 33 resident families, including 5 McCarthy families: in 1898 Grand Falls Portage had 1 post office and a population of 30: included Rapide de Femme, located 5 km S of Grand Falls: PO 1881-1914: in 1871 it had a population of 100: in 1898 Rapide de Femme was a small settlement with 1 post office, a government fish hatchery and a population of 50.
