Located 4.29 km WNW of Canterbury: Canterbury Parish, York County: named for Thomas Hartin, an Anglican clergyman, who in 1865 encouraged people to settle in this area: in 1866 Hartin Settlement was a farming community with about 26 families: PO 1910-1914.
