Located 4.52 km NW of Pearsonville: Johnston Parish, Queens County: settled about 1820 by English immigrants: included English Settlement: PO 1860-1896: in 1866 English Settlement was a farming community with approximately 35 resident families: in 1871 English Settlement had a population of 200: included Lawson: PO 1878-1912 with Walter Lawson as an early postmaster: in 1898 Lawson was a farming settlement with a population of 50: PO Highfield 1896-1945: in 1904 Highfield was a farming settlement with 1 post office, 1 store and a population of 50.
