Located on N side of Mactaquac Lake, which was created when the Mactaquac Dam was completed on the St. John River in 1967. 4.52 km NE of the community of Lower Line Queensbury: Bright Parish, York County: in 1866 "Macnaquack" was a farming community with about 13 families, including 4 Curry families: in 1871 it had a population of approximately 120: PO Macinquac 1884-1914: in 1898 Mactaquac was a farming settlement with 1 post office, 1 church and a population of 100.
