Settlement, 3.71 km N of Hammond River: Hampton Parish, Kings County: named by Commissioners of the European and North American Railway in 1858 for the Maliseet name for Hammond River: PO 1852-1969: in 1898 Nauwigewauk was a station on the Intercolonial Railway and a farming settlement with 1 post office, 1 store, 2 churches and a population of 150: today Nauwigewauk is a dispersed community.
