Located on N side of the Northwest Miramichi River, 1.27 km W of Strathadam: Northesk Parish, Northumberland County: named for a log boom situated on the Northwest Miramichi River: PO 1854-1960: in 1871 North Esk Boom and the surrounding district had a population of 500: in 1904 North Esk Boom was a fishing, farming and lumbering settlement with 1 post office, 1 store and had a population of 100.
