Located on Shippegan Island, 3.11 km NW of Lamèque, on the road to Petite-Lamèque: Shippegan Parish, Gloucester County: named for George Alexandre from Jersey, the manager of the William Fruing Company fish plant: PO Alexanders' Point 1866-1902 and 1923-1952: in 1871 it had a population of 200: in 1898 Pointe-Alexandre was a farming and fishing settlement with 1 post office, 1 store, a large codfish plant and a population of 150.
