Located 2.48 km W of Eel River Crossing: Dalhousie Parish, Restigouche County: settled about 1832 by Irish immigrants: name was inspired by the River Shannon, the longest river in Ireland: PO 1871-1956 was located 3 km W in Dundee: in 1898 Shannonvale was a farming and a lumbering settlement with a population of 50: Shannonvale first became part of Dundee, then Eel River Crossing.
