Located on W side of the St. John River, 4.5 km NE of Florenceville, on the road to Upper Wicklow: Wicklow Parish, Carleton County: named for the town of Wicklow located on the E coast of Ireland: PO Wicklow 1848-1912: in 1866 Wicklow was a farming settlement with 37 families: in 1871 it had a population of 300: in 1898 Wicklow had 1 church and a population of 50: included the community of Chester.
