Located on Long Reach at the mouth of the Nerepis River, 12.13 km SE of Welsford: Westfield Parish, Kings County: named for Alexander Malet Woodman (c1837-1899), from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, who settled here in 1859: in 1898 Woodmans Point was a settlement with 1 lighthouse and a population of 50: PO 1914-1919: formerly called Brittains Point.
