Description
Located 6.77 km NE of Middle Southampton and 7.95 km WNW of Nackawic: Southampton Parish, York County: settled in 1835: named for Sir Archibald Campbell (1769-1843), lieutenant-governor of New Brunswick from 1831-1837: PO 1867-1918 with D.K. Campbell as the first postmaster: in 1866 Campbell Settlement was a farming community with approximately 22 families: in 1898 Campbell Settlement had 1 post office, 1 church and a population of 150.
