CAP. XXV.

An ACT to alter and amend an Act, intituled "An Act to repeal all the Laws now in force, relating to the establishment, regulation and improvement of the Great Roads of Communication through the Province, and to make more effectual provision for the same."

Preamble.

WHEREAS it is expedient to authorise and empower the President or Commander in Chief for the time being, to displace and remove any of the Supervisors appointed under and by virtue of an Act made and passed in the third year of the Reign of his present Majesty, intituled "An Act to repeal all the Laws now in force relating to the establishment, regulation and improvement of the Great Roads of Communication through the Province, and to make more effectual provision for the same;

Commander in Chief, with advice of the Council, may displace Supervisors if necessary or expedient, and appoint others.

Be it enacted by the President, Council, and Assembly, That it shall and may be lawful for the President or Commander in Chief for the time being, by and with the advice of His Majesty's Council, to displace and remove any Supervisor appointed under the said recited Act, in case it shall be necessary or expedient so to do, and by and with the advice aforesaid to nominate and appoint some other fit person to be Supervisor in the room of such person so displaced and removed, in like manner as is provided in and by the fifteenth Section of the said recited Act, in case of the death, removal from the district, or refusal to act, of any Supervisor.
