Leopold Augustus Hoyt (ca. 1840-1919) was appointed to the Andover mission about 1870 where he served for 23 years. Here he discusses his arrival in the mission, the difficulties he faced, the establishment of the Scottish colony in the parish of Perth and the Danish colony at New Denmark, his visits to these settlements, his work among the Danes, and the Rev.
