Transcription of a copy of a letter from the Rev. J.-A. Allard, East-Bathurst, to the Hon. L. P. D. Tilley, premier and minister of lands and mines, Fredericton. – 15 December 1933. – 2 pp. of textual records. In this second letter of the same date, Allard reports more directly on the situation at Allardville. He states that if the colonists observe the regulations and receive help for three years, “there is absolutely no doubt that [they] are liable to make a success of their settlement”. He goes on to state how the colonists manage to earn a little money, but acknowledges that many are still very poor, starving, and scantily clothed.
