Letter from Attorney General George E. King to Surveyor General B.R. Stevenson. – 18 July 1872. – 8 pp. of textual records. King informs Stevenson that Captain Brown and Brown’s business partner, Robert Stewart, are in the province searching for a block of suitable land for settlement. He explains that 46 Scottish farmers with families have already expressed an interest in coming to New Brunswick. King feels that “the ball is at [the government’s] foot” and that “we must not let them [Brown and Stewart] go away disappointed.” MC42-MS3-H-266 B. R. Stevenson fonds, Charlotte County Archives.
