An act in furtherance of and to regulate juvenile emigration from Great Britain to this province. – March 1834. – 7 pp. of textual records. Passed on 22 March 1834, this statute (4 Gulielmi, c. 35) was intended to secure cheap labour by “importing” poor children from England to the province where, under the care of appointed commissioners, they would be bound out as apprentices to respectable masters.
