Minutes of the York County Emigrant Society held on Friday, 8 October 1841. – 3 pp. of textual records. The society met to discuss a circular letter, dated 20 July 1841 and issued by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor, in which His Excellency recommends the appointment of agents “throughout the county for the purpose of advising and assisting Emigrants.” The committee discusses the problems they would encounter in attempting to carry out this request, citing specific examples.
