Through this exhibit you are invited to discover the stories of the pioneers who created settlements at Stanley, Johnville, Kincardine, New Denmark, and Allardville in the 19th and 20th centuries. To navigate the site you can click on any of the place names on the map on this page. There is also a navigation bar at the bottom of this page or the top of each page within the exhibit for each settlement. You may wish to start with the Exhibit Introduction, which will provide an overview of the factors surrounding the settlement of these five communities or just dive into the settlement of your choice. We welcome your comments and these can be sent using the contact link found on each page.     Each exhibit consists of a narrative which contains hyperlinks. By clicking on the hyperlinks you will be lead to one or more documents, textual, photographic or cartographic, in the form of a thumbnail image(s) and a description of the document. These documents supplement the information provided in the narrative. When first opened the thumbnails may be too small to read or slightly distorted but options are available to enlarge the image. For maximum readability for the documents especially, use the high resolution option which also allows for even greater enlargement.
