This is a picture of the Grand Falls hydroelectric dam, built in 1926. The electricity generated here was distributed as of 1928 and proved very useful, especially for the Dalhousie paper company and the Fraser Company of Edmundston. Construction of the dam necessitated digging a tunnel and building an electrical-generating station. The project required a thousand workers. Several companies helped with the primary and secondary work. Canadian Pacific Railway transported goods; the Saint John River Power Company did the electrical work; the Dominion Construction Company saw the project to completion.
