WILLIAMSON, DAVID HAIN (1878-1933)

WILLIAMSON, DAVID HAIN, Presbyterian minister, Millerton, Derby, and McKinleyville, 1926-28; b. Quebec province, 11 Jun 1878, s/o James W. Williamson and Margaret Moyes; m. 1909, Beulah ("Blanche") Bonnell, of Lindsay, Ont.; d. Parry Sound, Ont., 12 May 1933.

David H. Williamson grew up in the Toronto area, where his parents moved when he was a child. He was educated at McMaster University (BA 1908) and was a member of the college band. His religion was given as Baptist in his 1909 marriage certificate, and he was not listed as a Presbyterian minister before 1926, the year he was inducted as pastor of Millerton, Derby, and McKinleyville. He occupied this charge for two and a half years. He was followed in 1929 by the Rev. Alfred A. J. Hogg, a former chaplain in the United States army whose charge also included the church at Sunny Corner.

Williamson returned to Ontario and had been living in Parry Sound for three years prior to his death, at age fifty-four. He was survived by his wife, Blanche Bonnell, three sons, and a daughter.
