DOLAN, RAYMOND JOHN, doctor; b. Nelson, 23 Nov 1890, s/o William Dolan and Eliza Ronan; m. Agnes Fahey; d. Fredericton, 30 Aug 1968.

Raymond J. Dolan was educated at St Dunstan's College (1906-11), studied law for a year at Dalhousie (1914-15), and was trained in medicine at Queen's University (MD CM 1919). After interning in Saint John he established a practice at Nelson which he continued until 1940. In that year he enlisted in the Canadian army, in which two of his sons were already serving. He was based at Fredericton until 1946, and after a brief period as superintendent of the veterans' hospital in Sussex, became a member of staff of the Department of Veterans Affairs in Saint John. In 1949 he was appointed provincial director of hospital services, with his office in Fredericton. He retired in 1963.

Dolan was survived in 1968 by his wife, Agnes Fahey, and four sons. One of his sons was Raymond H. Dolan, a Fredericton orthodontist.
