MACLEOD, ALBERT MORRISON (1875-1934)

MACLEOD, ALBERT MORRISON, Presbyterian minister, Millerton and Derby, 1901-03; b. Lorne, Pictou Co., N.S., 24 Dec 1875, s/o Archibald MacLeod and Elizabeth Morrison; m. Lena Murray, a native of Nova Scotia; d. Imperoyal, near Dartmouth, N.S., 5 Dec 1934.

Albert M. MacLeod received his education at Pictou Academy and Dalhousie University (BA 1899) and was trained for the ministry at the Presbyterian College in Halifax. He first charge was at Millerton and Derby, and his ordination took place in Grace Church in May 1901. Gifted intellectually, and having a fine singing voice, he was a favorite of the several congregations to which he preached during his two-year term. He spent most of the rest of his ministry in Nova Scotia, notably at Knox Church in Glace Bay, but he was also pastor of Hyde Park Church in Boston for a brief period.
