Abstract Parish of Sackville, Westmorland County. Will dated 27 June 1805, proved 30 July 1805. The name appears as "BALLOU" and "BALLAOU" in the probate records. Wife Ruth BALLOU one third of real estate during her life and to daughter Ruth BALLOU at wife's death. Eldest son Stephen BALLOU [land where I now reside]. Son Jesse BALLOU £40. Daughter Lydia TAYLOR, wife of Samuel TAYLOR, 5 shillings. Daughter Susanna BOYLE, wife of Charles BOYLE, 25 shillings. Daughter Deborah BALLOU 12 shillings 6 pence. Daughter Ruth BALLOU £50, she to live with her mother so long as they both shall live. Residue of estate for maintenance of wife and be divided amongst the legatees in due proportion to the several and respective legacies. James EASTERBROOKS and James ROGERS executors each 5 shillings. Witnesses: James KAY, Timothy LOCKHART, Simeon JENKES. Inventory, dated 31 December 1810, valued at £127 by Pickering SNOWDON and Thomas HARRISON.
