Fellow bondsmen Peter BESNARD, merchant, City of Saint John, and Jedediah SLASON of Fredericton, York County. Petition of James FRASER dated 4 November 1831 stated he was the confidential agent of the deceased; that deceased left a widow and next of kin in Scotland; that there were no next of kin residing in New Brunswick, and there were legal proceedings against persons in the Province that became void because of his death, thereby causing a probability of loss to a considerable extent to the Estate of the said deceased. Inventory, dated 26 November 1831, valued at £15,974 by James FRASER Junr. included 1500 tons of timber valued at £1,500.
