"Being an old man who a Cording to ye Course of nature Cannot live long" bequeaths to wife, un-named, if she outlives me, one-half my shop and tools and timber, the other half to son James on wife's death. After her death, house to daughters Ruth GAYNOR and Catherine DAYTON for life, and after their deaths, to William GAYNOR and Josh GAYNOR, my two grandchildren, sons of my son James. Friends Thomas BEAN and William Sanford OLIVER executors. Witnesses: Jane BEAN, Catharine OLIVER, Bridget JAMES. On 13 February 1800 James GAYNOR and Bridget JAMES as heirs of Peter GAYNOR, assigned one-half of the Mansion House and Lot of Land in which Peter GAYNOR formerly lived and two-thirds of the goods and furniture belonging to the house, to Ruth GAYNOR, daughter of Peter GAYNOR, after the death of Bridget GAYNOR, widow of the deceased.
