Abstract "Late of Halifax, Nova Scotia," St. John County records, Master Mariner. Intestate. Administration granted 24 December 1831 to Thomas REED. Fellow bondsmen Hiram SMITH and Robert ROBERTSON, all of the City of Saint John. Petition of Thomas REED, pilot, stated that administration had been granted (evidently in Nova Scotia) to deceased's wife who had authorized petitioner to administer his effects in the Province of New Brunswick. Inventory of personal effects, filed 27 December 1831, valued at £115 by Isaac WOODWARD and Hiram SMITH.
