Abstract City of Saint John, St. John County, Merchant. Will dated 14 March 1803, proved 22 April 1803. Wife Frances all real and personal estate except the House and Lot now occupied by my Honoured Father. Mentions a Lot back of the Gaol; land at Carleton drawn in the General Grant; a farm on the Kennebecasis. The child by the name of Frances Lawton SCOTT, a poor orphan, be brought up in a Christian-like manner. Stipulates wife to bequeath one-third of the remainder of estate to the child at her death. Requests that the Lord's Prayer and the Ten Commandments may be fixed in the Holy Altar of God's House . . . . where I have been . . . a communicant. Wife Frances, William WHITLOCK, Captain Isaac LAWTON and Andrew CROOKSHANK executors. Witnesses: Edward SANDS, Mark NEEDHAM.
