Abstract Parish of Portland, St. John County, Farmer. Will dated 26 November 1829, proved 20 August 1831. Son Thomas REED all the land east of the brook or stream running about due north and south near my dwelling house, he to pay his sister Elizabeth PICKETT £5 one year after my decease and to pay annually one pound ten shillings to his mother. Son Ishmael REED the land west of the brook, he to provide comfortable support for his mother and pay her annually £3 and to pay his sister Abigail £5 one year after my decease. No executors appointed. Witnesses: James GRUNDY, Joshua EGER, Thomas OWENS. Ishmael REED petitioned for administration of the estate, no date cited, stating his father died on 2 April 1830 and that he was the only surviving son, his brother Thomas having died about eight months since on a voyage to Africa.
