City of Saint John, St. John County, Merchant. Will dated 6 July 1821, proved 9 October 1821. Wife Margaret £50 annuity for six years after my decease and use of half my new house and furniture in Union Street. Children the use of other half of the house while unmarried. Executors empowered to carry on the business, or if they see fit, dispose of all stock in trade, including the ship "Hannah." Executors empowered to dispose of real estate in Kings County. Son Charles to be kept at the Grammar School a sufficient time and afterwards be sent to the College at Windsor until age 18 when he will be of proper age to commence the study of the Law. William Augustus WIGGINS, a reputed natural son of my eldest son now deceased, be kept at school until old enough to be put to a trade. When he has served his time executors to pay him £100 if they think him steady and deserving. At the end of six years, all stock in trade, goods, chattels and effects to be sold. Executors may sell all or any part of real estate should they think it necessary. Wife to receive annuity of £100 for life while widow. Estate to be divided into sixteen shares, one share to eldest son Stephen WIGGINS. Daughter Hannah WIGGINS two and one quarter shares; son Gilbert Lester WIGGINS two shares; daughter Susan, wife of John M. WILMOT, one and one half shares; daughter Charlotte WIGGINS two and one eighth shares; daughter Ann WIGGINS two and one eighth shares; son Richard WIGGINS three shares, and that his share is to be considered as full compensation for his services in the store; and son Charles WIGGINS two shares, executors, at their discretion, may place his share at interest, paying such interest to him yearly, in which case the principal to his heirs at his death. Daughter Susan WILMOT's share to be placed at interest, such interest to be paid annually for her sole use and benefit and not subject to the debt, control or management of her husband.
