Abstract City of Saint John, St. John County, Yeoman. Will dated 2 November 1818, proved 17 August 1820. "Greatly advanced in years." Wife Eleanor use of all personal estate for life, at her death to be divided among sons William and James and daughters Mary and Ellen at the discretion of their mother, my said wife. A silver tankard marked L.S.D. to son James at age 21. Daughters Mary and Ellen one mahogany chest of drawers or secretary and one bed and bedstead each when age 18. Son Thomas, born of my first wife, 5 shillings. Wife Eleanor to have income from real estate for the support of the four children until they come of age. Property to be divided among children. Wife Eleanor DOWLING and Thomas BEAN Junr. executors. Witnesses: Thomas HARDING, William WITHAM, Henry PRATT. CODICIL dated 25 January 1820 directs lots in Carleton to eldest son James, Lots 916 and 917 on Mechlenburgh Street to son William. Son James my chest of tools and case of drawing instruments at age 21. Witnesses: William SIMPSON, William BEAN, Henry PRATT.
