Résumé Red Head District, Parish of Portland, St. John County, House Carpenter. Will dated 10 November 1823, proved 27 November 1823. To niece Eleanor DOWLING my lot, 180 feet in depth, and dwelling in Prince William Street, Saint John, during her widowhood, and afterward to her four children, James, Mary, Eleanor and William DOWLING. Twenty feet in depth remaining of said lot to nephew William BEAN Junr., together with 100 feet of the rear of my lot in Germain Street, part of which his house stands upon. Nephew Henry BEAN my dwelling and lot of ground, in depth 100 feet, in Germain Street. Store house and water lot in Saint John Street to nephew Thomas BEAN, son of my brother Henry BEAN, together with three farm lots in Red Head District, that is, Lot 5 granted to John MENZIES, Lot 6 granted to James MILLER and Lot 7 granted to Edward IRVIN, containing 600 acres more or less. To nephew Thomas BEAN, son of my brother Daniel BEAN, the south half of Lot 2 granted to George SMITH. To grand nephew Ralph McKEE the north half of Lot 3 granted to John STEEL and the south side of said Lot to grand niece Mary HUTTON, each 100 acres. To nephew Bean BASSET the Lot 4 granted to Robert MELVIN, containing 200 acres, and all the buildings thereon, 2 cows and 2 steers, now in the care of William HUTTON. To niece Ann BEAN £200, nephew William BEAN Senior £100. Nephew William BEAN Junior £20. Nephew Thomas BEAN, son of my brother Daniel, £50. Nephew Michael BASSET £50. Grand niece Mary Ann BASSET £100. Grand niece Mary HUTTON £50. Grand nephew Ralph McKEE £50. To his brother James McKEE £50 and to his brother Thomas McKEE £50. Grand nephew John BASSETT £50. Grand nephew John WITHAM £25 and to his brother William WITHAM £25. To Jane BEAN, daughter of my niece Sarah BEAN and Thomas Bean, son of said Sarah BEAN, £100 each to be taken care of by their father until they come of age. Residue of estate to nephew Thomas BEAN, son of my brother Henry BEAN. Last named nephew Thomas BEAN and William HUTTON executors. Witnesses: Henry PORTER, Henry ANTHONY, Samuel WHITTINGTON. Inventory, filed 23 December 1823, valued at £2,567 by Henry ANTHONY, Jehiel PARTELOW Junr. and Samuel WHITTINGTON, included seven lots of real estate appraised at £2,425.
