Résumé City of Saint John, St. John County, Mariner. Will dated 14 January 1822, proved 28 June 1830. Wife Elizabeth use of all real and personal estate during her life. Daughter Anne £2. Son Alexander and daughter Eliza the Lot 9 and house where I live on Queen Street after death of my wife. Son Charles and daughter Frances Maria the adjoining house and lot on Queen Street. Wife Elizabeth LAVITEEN sole executrix. Witnesses: Thomas CANBY, Ruth CANBY, Mary CANBY. CODICIL dated 18 June 1830 bequeaths the store, which he purchased since making his will, to sons Alexander and Charles; his wife to have the rent from his property to support herself and the children; daughter Ann £4. Robert WYLIE and Thomas GRIFFITHS attested that deceased had made a nuncupative Codicil in their presence and the presence of William McLEAN, now absent; that the Codicil was made shortly before he departed this life, during his last sickness, in the Town of St. Andrews where he died. Inventory, filed 3 August 1830, valued at £451 by Elizabeth LAVITEEN, Walter HUME and Alexander [MANSON], included Lots 984 and 985 on Queen Street, and one-fourth of Lot 20 on Water Street.
