Résumé Parish of Fredericton, York County, Esquire. Lieut. Governor of New Brunswick and a Major General in His Majesty's Service. Will dated 19 June 1821, proved 5 April 1823. Nieces Mary Anne SMYTH and Georgina SMYTH the interest on mortgage I hold on my brother's place during their lives or while single, and to revert to my children on nieces' death or marriage. Aunt Sarah an annuity of £50, to be continued at her death to such of her daughters as remain single. My children to be maintained until daughter Amelia Georgina is age 24 and son George Brunswick is age 21, when estate to be divided between them. Brother John Gee SMYTH of Chelsworth in Suffold, clerk, and Thomas Barret LENNARD in Essex executors and Guardians of my said children. CODICIL dated 26 March 1823 provides annuity of £200 sterling to brother John Gee SMYTH, and at his death, the annuity to be paid to his son, the Rev. Charles SMYTH, for his life; consigns concerns in New Brunswick to management of friends George SHORE, a Member of His Majesty's Council, and Alexander BOYLE, Doctor of Physick of City of Saint John, they to convert estate in New Brunswick to ready money and remit the balance to the executors in England. The two friends to have direction and management of my two children until their return to England. Both friends to retain £50 for mourning rings. Thomas WETMORE, Attorney General, and Lieut. Edward BOYD, my personal aid(sic), each 10 Guineas for mourning rings. Witnesses: Charles Peters WETMORE, Richard WINTER, Susannah WINTER. CODICIL nuncupative, 27 March 1823, in presence of George SHORE and Alexander BOYLE, ordered cancellation of small debts, among them one of Mr. CHAMBERLAIN, organist of Trinity Church, St. John, and Mr. MARTIN of the Commissaries Department. Ordered that a bond from Asst. Commissary General PRICE for £500 sterling, which would answer for itself, be demanded and paid.
