Résumé City of Saint John, St. John County. Will dated 23 June 1827, proved 23 April 1829. Died prior to 3 August 1827. Debts to be paid, reserving, if possible, a decent maintenance for my wife and child. Nephew "little Michael TUNNY" £25 to be given to his father as soon as my executors find my circumstances adequate to pay it. Brother James TUNNY, supposed to be residing at Dublin, £10 British. Residue of estate to daughter Susan Ann, reserving support for my wife while she remains unmarried. Wife to receive £40 if she remarries. If daughter Susan Ann dies without issue, residue to nephew Michael TUNNY. Uncle James GILDAY and acquaintance Hugh SHARKEY executors. Witnesses: Hugh SHARKEY, James GILDAY, John HUGHES. CODICIL undated, unsigned, bequeathed sundry articles of clothing to his brother Daniel TUNNY of Red Head. On 23 April 1829 Hugh SHARKEY, schoolmaster, renounced executorship. Administration granted 3 August 1827 to the widow Rose TUNNY and James GILDAY, uncle of the deceased. Fellow bondsmen John MONAHAN and Philip KEHOE, all of the City of Saint John. On 15 April 1829 James GILDAY petitioned the probate court to repeal the administration and grant leave to prove the will. The name appears in later documents as "TUNNEY."
