Located 3.88 km E of Rusagonis Station: Burton Parish, Sunbury County: named for the Acadians who hid here during the Acadian expulsion in 1755: PO 1872-1928: in 1866 French Lake was a farming and lumbering settlement with about 70 families, including 6 Ferguson and 13 Upton families: in 1871 it had a population of 150: in 1898 French Lake had 1 post office, 1 store, 1 grist mill and a population of 100.
