Located at the mouth of Nigadoo River, 4.47 km NW of Beresford, on the road to Petit-Rocher-Sud: Beresford Parish, Gloucester County: William Francis Ganong identified the Mi'kmaq name for Nigadoo River as Anigadoo: PO Nigado 1889-1941: PO Nigadoo from 1941: in 1866 Nigadoo was a farming and lumbering community with approximately 10 resident families: in 1898 Nigadoo had 1 post office and a population of 200: included the community of Upper Nigadoo: PO Upper Nigadoo 1927-1930: Nigadoo was incorporated as a village in 1967.
