Place : Saint Louis-de-Kent
Date : 1910
Fr. Marcel-François Richard asked the sisters of Congrégation Notre-Dame to come to Saint-Louis to provide Christian education for the parishioners. A convent was built in 1876, and the first students entered in 1881. The convent was enlarged in 1899 to add more classrooms and study rooms. It was destroyed by fire on March 11, 1938. Several young women from New Brunswick and Quebec studied at the Saint-Louis convent. This photo shows the Saint Louis-de-Kent convent in 1910.
