Description
Sunbury County
: first established in 1765 as a township in Nova Scotia: named for Joshua Mauger (1725-1788), originally from Jersey, a local land grantee as well as a Halifax merchant and a colonial agent in England: in 1763 he helped settlers secure formal title to their lands: established as a New Brunswick parish in 1786.
