Located on W side of the St. John River, 3.19 km SE of Central Hampstead: Hampstead Parish, Queens County: PO from 1850: in 1866 Hampstead was a farming community with approximately 44 families, including 7 Palmer families: in 1871 the community and the surrounding district had a population of 250: in 1898 Hampstead was a farming settlement with 1 post office, 2 stores, 1 hotel and a population of 150.
