Located 7.42 km S of Upham and 6.39 km SE of Barnesville: Saint Martins Parish, St. John County: first called Ryan Settlement for John Ryan, Thomas Ryan and Michael Ryan who were settlers here: renamed when the post office was created: PO Hardingville 1878-1909 with V. Harding as the first postmaster: in 1898 Hardingville was a farming and lumbering settlement with 1 post office, 1 store, 2 sawmills, 1 church and a population of 150.
