Located on the Belleisle Bay, 5.37 km SW of Springfield: Springfield Parish, Kings County: first called Sprague's Point for settler Thomas Spragg (1729-1812): PO 1855-1880: in 1866 Sprague's was a farming community with approximately 33 resident families: renamed Hatfield Point for settlers Daniel Hatfield, Edmund Hatfield, Uriah Hatfield and Weeden Hatfield: in 1898 Hatfield Point was a farming settlement with post office, 3 stores, 1 hotel, 1 sawmill, 1 grist mill, 1 carriage shop, 1 church and a population of 250.
