Located opposite the town of Nackawic, 2.26 km NE of Pokiok and 3.18 km SW of Nackawic: Dumfries Parish, York County: named for Howard "Hawk" Shaw, who operated a tannery here in the late 1800's: PO 1894-1970: in 1898 Hawkshaw was a farming and lumbering settlement with 1 post office, 1 store, 2 hotels, 1 tannery, 1 church and a population of 150.
