Located on W side of the Petitcodiac River, 3.93 km NNE of Lower Cape: Hopewell Parish, Albert County: PO from 1846: in 1866 Hopewell Cape was a port of entry, a seaport and a farming and shipping village with about 90 resident families: in 1871 it had a population of 500: in 1898 Hopewell Cape had 1 post office, 4 stores, 1 hotel, 2 churches and a population of 300.
