Located on the Shepody Bay, 4.3 km ENE of Riverside-Albert: Hopewell Parish, Albert County: PO from 1847: in 1866 Hopewell Hill was a farming, lumbering and shipping settlement with approximately 105 families: O.A. Barbarie, William Rogers, John Starratt and Daniel Woodworth owned mills here: in 1871 it had a population of 500: in 1898 Hopewell Hill had a railway station, 1 post office, 3 stores, 2 hotels, 1 sawmill and grist mill, plaster quarries, 3 churches and a population of 225.
